SPED Summit Code of Conduct

At SPED Summit, we strive to create a safe and inclusive virtual conference experience for all special education teachers and participants. We expect all attendees to adhere to the following code of conduct to ensure a respectful and positive environment for everyone involved. By participating in SPED Summit, you agree to abide by these guidelines.

1. Respectful and Inclusive Behavior:
  • Treat all conference participants, including speakers, organizers, and fellow attendees, with respect and courtesy.

  • Embrace diversity and inclusivity by valuing and considering the perspectives and experiences of all individuals, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other characteristic.

  • Avoid engaging in any form of harassment, discrimination, or offensive behavior, including but not limited to verbal or written comments, images, or actions that are disrespectful, threatening, or discriminatory.

2. Professional Conduct:
  • Engage in professional and constructive discussions and interactions that contribute positively to the conference's goals and topics.

  • Refrain from engaging in any form of self-promotion or marketing activities that are unrelated to the conference.

  • Be mindful of the boundaries between personal and professional interactions, and maintain appropriate professional behavior throughout the conference.

3. Privacy and Confidentiality:
  • Respect the privacy and confidentiality of fellow participants. Do not share or distribute any personal information or materials shared during the conference without explicit permission from the individuals involved.

  • Refrain from taking screenshots, recording, or photographing any conference sessions or materials without the consent of the organizers and speaker

4. Responsible Use of Technology:
  • Use the conference platform and related technologies responsibly and for their intended purposes only.

  • Do not engage in any form of hacking, unauthorized access, or tampering with the conference platform or any associated systems.

  • Refrain from engaging in any activities that may disrupt or interfere with the smooth operation of the conference.

5. Reporting Violations:
  • If you witness or experience any violations of this code of conduct, promptly report the incident to the conference organizers through the designated reporting channels.

  • The conference organizers will treat all reports with discretion and take appropriate actions to address any violations.

Consequences of Violation:

Violation of this code of conduct may result in various actions, including but not limited to warnings, temporary or permanent removal from the conference platform, or banning from future SPED Summit events. The severity and consequences of the violation will be determined by the conference organizers based on the nature and impact of the incident.
